News

Cilk++ has moved to Intel Corporation! This will allow us to go even further in helping make parallel programming easier. We are very excited about the synergies between Intel’s leading tools for parallel programming and the technology of Cilk++. We will have more details later this year about products from Intel that will include Cilk technology.

Intel Threading Building Blocks 2.2 was released on August 4.

  • Improved performance
  • New in scalable memory allocator
  • Improvements in task scheduler
  • New and improved parallel algorithms

New Content on the Parallel Programming & Multi-Core Community

Parallel Programming Talk #42

On this weeks Parallel Programming Talk talked with Wolfgang Von Rüden about how CERN uses standards to successfully distribute massive compute jobs to global data centers and how Wolfgang and his team manage the fast pace of change in compute technology on decade long projects. Wolfgang will also introduce our listeners to his openlab project.

Coming up on Parallel Programming Talk August 18th Parallel Programming Talk with Guest Professor Ralph E. Johnson

Ralph E. Johnson is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a co-author of the influential computer science textbook Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Ralph was an early pioneer in the Smalltalk community and is a continued supporter of the language. He has held several executive roles at the ACM Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications conference OOPSLA, which he attends every year. He initiated the popular OOPSLA Design Fest workshop.
