Yahoo`s Friends on Fire Challenges Google Latitude

Yahoo introduces a Facebook application, called Friends on Fire, which takes advantage of the companys Fire Eagle geo-location platform. Yahoo hopes its new application will counter Google Latitude, a geo-location service that lets people share their real-time location with contacts. Cybersquatting, where people use misleading Websites to profit off the names of celebrities and companies, hit a record high in 2008, according to a new report. In addition to actors and actresses, companies such as BlackBerry maker RIM and Google have been targeted.
